Claypot Chicken Rice

This restaurant is aptly named. They really are busy, especially during lunch time! This is one of the very few places in PJ that serves good Claypot Chicken Rice.

They have different variants of the popular claypot chicken rice, eg Black Pepper, Red Bean Sauce, Thai Style... and it's not limited to just chicken - you can also have steak, prawns or fish!

Being the traditionalist that I am, I always order their original Claypot Chicken Rice. I have tried their fish and also Thai style rice... but somehow, I find the plain old chicken rice is still the best. The chicken has been well marinated with oyster sauce, ginger juice, rice wine and these flavours have seeped into the fluffy rice grains in the claypot... The Original Chicken Rice also has a sprinkling of salted fish which gives that added "ooomph" to it... just yummy.

All their pots of rice come topped with generous amounts of sliced bombay onions...
My 2nd favourite is their Black Pepper Chicken Rice... extra spiciness and flavour due to the very strong taste of black pepper... and more onions...

I'm not a fan of bombay onions (don't want to be a kentut/fart pass wind nuisance later) but they do add the extra fragrance to the rice once you mix everything up in the pot...

See... the rice, chicken, onions all nicely tossed up...They also serve a variety of double-boiled soups to go with your rice...we chose the Chinese Herbal Soup...

Lots of kei chee, ginseng roots, yook chook in the soup......not forgetting the mandatory greens... Baby Kai Lan in Oyster Sauce...

All the above, for 2 persons - the bill came to RM25.

My rating: 7/10 - I have been going to this place for quite some time, hehe!

I love their soup more than the claypot rice. Their soup really 'kau kau' with ingredients. My fav would be Peanut Chicken Feet soup!

Pea: Yes, they do have pretty good soup - very home-cooked types! Peanut chicken feet must be boiled till very soft - slurrrppps!
