Delicious Cafe
GF-1 Ground Floor
Bangsar Village
Kuala Lumpur
Just before my friend Xara Skye went back to the US, we had a chance to do some shopping and errands in Bangsar and decided to stop by the Delicious Cafe in Bangsar Village. I have heard so much about this cafe that I told Xara we really must give it a try.
As it was mid-morning and I didn't have my coffee fix yet, I ordered the Good Day Iced Coffee (RM9.90). The waitress told me that this would be served with vanilla icecream and I asked that the icecream be served separately (for LL!) as I didn't fancy too rich a concoction of coffee. As it was, even without the icecream, the coffee was milky enough for me!
I wanted something spicy so their Nyonya Curry Laksa (RM19.90) seemed like a good choice. When it was served, I was dismayed to note that the only toppings were a few medium-sized prawns and some beancurd puffs, besides the shavings of cucumber in the bowl. The laksa gravy was too rich/lemak for my taste and I couldn't discern any outstanding flavours in it.
LL had Spaghetti Carbonara (RM19.90). Not a pasta fan, at his insistence, I took a forkful to try and all I could say was "it's forgettable". For that kinda pricing, much better pasta can be had elsewhere.
Xara was still quite full from breakfast, so she decided to have just some dessert. Peach & Banana Crumble (RM9.90) was her choice. From her facial expression, I could see that this didn't go down too well with her. All she could say was "over-priced mediocre food".
Besides the canned peaches and sweetened banana hidden in the crumble pastry, I could taste some candied coconut shavings too.
All in all, I tend to agree with Xara that the food in Delicious was really quite mediocre. Despite all the hype about this place, I was rather disappointed and now that I have tried it, there won't be much motivation to go there again.
My rating: 5/10

same, i dont like the food there either... bt i still c lots of ppl there... Dissapointed..
christy: ya, on the whole, the food was nothing to shout about. Despite the prices, people seem to throng this place - guess they don't mind paying for overpriced food!
jun: I guess they have done a good job in advertising & promoting the place!
